Ukamba Women's Entrepreneurship Program
Ukamba has been working with the Sisya Mbee Women's Group in equipping them with Entrepreneurship and ICT training in order for them to transform their entreprises into successful business ventures. The women have completed their business plans and have successfully acquired basic computer skills.
The Women of Sisya Mbee
Ann Waita, ChairLady 
Ann is a goat milk and chicken retailer, she successfully completed the entrepreneurship training as well as developed her business plan. Her favourite part of the training is her ability to use computers and she hopes to use her new found skills in finding new markets for her products. She also is enjoying being more computer literate than her children.
Pauline Musembi
Pauline Musembi in additon to being a community elder is a retailer/ distributor of clothing merchandise. Pauline normally travels to Nairobi, to source for Suits, School Uniforms, Handbanks and sells them at her retail shop. Her long term goal is to open a large retail store with many branches across the country.
Felister Kisavi 
Felister runs a retail shop in Mitamboni. The trainning has helped her with is the ability to establish contacts with wholesale suppliers who are able to supply her with stock on credit, which she is able to repay after selling. Before the class her shop was mostly empty.
Rebecaa Solly
Rebeca's dream is to own her own bakery that uses solar enegry. Her long term vision is to be the sole distributor of bread in the Mitamboni and greater Machakos region. Since the inception of the class Rebecca has been able to upgrade the quality of her cows from traditional to grade so she has increased her income from extra milk production and distribution.

Alice Ndeti
Alice's great grand son was very shocked to find out that his great grandmother more computer literate than he was. Alice's determination to learn as much as she can on ICTs has seen Ukamba branded as the school that teaches old people how to use computers. Considering Ukamba is into the business of empowering Small Holder Farmers that is a reputation the School gladly accepts.
Mary Ndunda
Mary's determination and committment to the entrepreneurship and ICT is truly an inspiration. Mary's is very passionate about her coffee bushes. She has earned herself the reputation of having the best well kept coffee bushes. At Ukamba we are currently building her leadership skills in order to have her nominated as one of the Coffee Officals at the local coffee mills. Our dream is to have her be the voice of coffee farmers in various regional bodies such as COMESA.
Naomi Mwasa
Naomi is unusually and exceptional brigth, she took the shortest time to learn how to use computers, and her favourite pass time is typing long newspaper articles on food security. It is amazing that having never gone to school she has been able to teach herself how to read and write. Her passion is zero grazing since the inception of the class, she has been able to increase her milk production as well as opened a small restuart where she is making good use of her extra milk production by selling tea.
Tabitha Kavelii
Tabitha is a small scale retailer of various household products. She runs a retail shop near her home, which she has single handedly run for the last 20 years. Her vision is to see her business grow to where she can be a wholesale distributor in Mitamboni village. Tabith is exceptionaly talented in sales and marketing.
Josephine Muthike Nzomo 
Josephine is owns a retail shop where she sells cereal namely peas, maize and beans. In addition to running her retail shop she also is involved in wholesale supply of cereal to and from the urban to the rural areas. Her favourite part of the class was the Boston Martix, as she is now able to identify which products bring her money and which ones dont.
The Men of Sisya Mbee
The Sisya Mbee rules of absentism requires that a woman sends either their husband or child to the meeting. The representives enjoyed the classes so much they decided to stay on.
James Wambua 
James Wambua and his wife Florence are very passionate about horticulural farming with a very keen interest in fruits and fresh vegatable farming. They passion is demonstrated constant effort to harvest as much water as they can.
Benson Ndeti
Benson runs a barber shop in Mitamboni he intially joined the class in order to assist his 80 year old mother Alice Wambua in the development of her business plan. He found the class very informtive and decided to stay on in order to develop both his and Alice business plan. Benson farvourite part of the class is the ICTs tools.
Mwaka Mwaniki
Mwaka was invited to the training program by his very good friend James Wambua. Since his wife was a member of the group he continued with training program. Mwaka long term goal is to export his fresh fruits and vegetable especially his avocados to the US and the European Markets.
Ali (Kwa Ali)
Mzee Ali has been in the retail business for such a long time that the area where his shop is located is know as Kwa Ali (Ali's Place). Mzee Ali has been very successful, while without any formal education and unable to read and write, he has proven to his fellow wazees (old men) that one can still learn how to use a computer. This has certainly moved the level of conversation from old tales, to capabilities of ICT tools in the rural areas.
